3 Ways You can Plan Ahead
A driver’s license is more than an identification card—it’s independence. The freedom to go where you want, when you want. But with that freedom comes responsibility. And sometimes, the biggest threat to that freedom? You.

Many of you have shared how your tickets or close calls weren’t about the drive itself—they were about stress, lack of sleep, or simply having too much on your plate leading into the drive. That’s when we get distracted, impatient, or rushed... and make risky choices.
Here’s the reality:
Being awake for more than 20 hours results in impairment equal to a BAC of 0.08—the legal limit in Florida. (The Zebra)
Fatigue-related crashes cost over $109 billion annually, not including property damage. (AAA)
More than 1 in 5 drivers who’ve fallen asleep at the wheel did so between noon and 5 p.m. (National Sleep Foundation)
Distracted driving spikes at night between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (Cambridge Mobile Telematics)
And according to several recovery centers, the most common reasons people drink are often tied to poor boundaries around sleep and stress—and the desire to temporarily escape:
To have fun
Stress relief
Social pressure
Self-medication
With summer celebrations and the Fourth of July, now’s the time to check in with yourself. Driving sober isn’t just about alcohol or drugs—it’s about being mentally and physically ready to drive.
Planning ahead = protecting your freedom:
Take a rideshare to the party to avoid the “should I drive?” moment later.
Set your Designated Driver before you go—not after the drinks start.
If you’re hosting, offer non-alcoholic options and help your guests get home safely.
And always—wear your safety belt. It’s the simplest way to protect yourself and others from impaired drivers on the road.
Let’s make this summer one of safety, intention, and freedom that lasts. 🚗💙
